Bodinger Brothers Bring Home the Win

The brothers team of Steve & Dan Bodinger bring in a 2 day total basket of 72.59 pounds to take the Detroit River 2010 title.  For their efforts they earned $16,400 in tournament payout and sponsor contingency bonuses, plus $1000 in Cabela's gift cards.

The big fish of the tournament was caught by Nate Seiferlein & Jason Kaniszewski, weighing 10.27 pounds.

 

 

Day 1 at Detroit River, with a lead of 38.99lbs!

Day 1 is in the books and over 2,527 pounds of fish were caught with 482 fish brought in – a 5.24 pound average. Taking the lead are Dan Johnson of Fayettevile, Oh and Larry Rhoads III of Oregonia, OH with 38.99 pounds for five fish.

Here are the top 5 places after day one….

•2: Boat # 53 - Steve Bodinger (Chilton, WI) & Dan Bodinger (Chilton, WI) - Day 1 - 5 Fish, 38.93 lbs.

•3: Boat # 76 - Mark Lemke (Dexter, MI) & John Orailly (Lincon Park, MI) - Day 1 - 5 Fish, 37.58 lbs.

•4: Boat # 16 - Bob Devine (Windsor, ON) & Steve Velte (Belleville, MI) - Day 1 - 5 Fish, 36.35 lbs.

•5: Boat # 32 - David Leach (Linwood, MI) & Alan Szoke (Grosse Ile, MI) - Day 1 - 5 Fish, 34.44 lbs.
 

Biggest fish of the day honors also go to Dan Johnson and Larry Rhoads III with 10.23 pounds netting $1000. Second place was 9.77 pounds for Dave Truett of Marblehead, OH and Dan Stier of Clearwater, MN for $700 and third place was Mark Lemke of Dexter, MI and John Oreilly of Lincon Park, MI at 9.71 pounds for $400.

Cabela's MWC Starts the East Division Next Weekend!

Big waters and big fish are on the horizon for the next Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit tournament.  Heading back to familiar territory, the East division anglers return to Detroit River for the fifth time in seven years.  Scheduled for April 17th and 18th, the weigh-ins will be held at Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Michigan starting at 3:00pm (EST).  Weigh-ins are free to attend and the public is welcome.  This tournament is being filmed for television by North American Media Group to air on the VERSUS Network.  Tournament coverage will air twice on VERSUS in May.  Catch the premiere on Monday May 17th at 10:30am (EST) or watch the re-air Tuesday May 18th at 12:30 PM (EST).
